The 2008 Students for Change Essay Writing Contest is available for high school seniors, as well as undergraduate and graduate students who will continue their education in the United States in the Fall of 2009. The top 3 winners will each be awarded a $1,000 scholarship. To enter, students will write a 1,000 to 2,000 word essay explaining "what the election of Barack Obama, the first African-American President, means to you and your family." The deadline for submission is January 20, 2009. More complete information, including the various methods the essays may be submitted, is available at the 2008 Students for Change web site. | |
