The National WW II Museum 2009 Student Essay Contest offers students a chance to compete for one of 3 scholarships ranging in value from $1,000 to $500. Students will compete based on a 1,000 word essay in which they "tell us, in your own words, “E Pluribus Unum”: How Then/How Now? How best can people of different backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences come together to
ensure a vibrant, successful country, thus becoming one, out of many?"

The contest is open to high school students throughout the U.S., as well as U.S. territories and military bases.

Essays are submitted via email. The deadline for submission is March 27, 2009 at 5:00pm CST. PLEASE NOTE: Only the first 500 essays submitted will be considered. You can find complete information and the link to submit your essay online at the The National WWII Museum web site.
