Voice of Democracy Scholarship 2010

The Voice of Democracy scholarship program offers students in grades 9-12 the opportunity to compete for a scholarship of $30,000.  Other prizes ranging from $1,000-16,000 will also be awarded.  Students may also win a trip to Washington, D.C. in March of 2011.

To compete, students write and record an audio essay on an assigned theme.  This year's theme is "Does My Generation Have a Role in America’s Future?" (Just a guess, but I suspect the correct answer is "yes.")

The deadline to enter is November 1, 2009.  Students can find more complete information and download the entry form on the VFW Voice of Democracy web page.

Note: Applications must be submitted through your local VFW.  If you can't find one, you can contact the VFW National Headquarters or VFW State Headquarters.  Again you can find links to those organizations on the VFW Voice of Democracy web page.
