Improving the Lives of Children Essay Contest










The New America Foundation is sponsoring the Improving the Lives of Children Essay Contest, which is open to seniors from across the U.S. Students are asked to write an essay of 600 words or less, based on the following prompt: “You have just been elected the President of the United States. What is the most important thing you will do to improve the lives of America’s children?” The winner will receive an award of $2,500.

Essays must be submitted with an official entry form. The deadline to enter is February 20, 2009. Complete information and the downloadable application are available on the
