The Sam Walton Community Scholarships offer high school seniors the opportunity to win $3,000 towards college expenses. To be eligible, applicants must have a GPA of at least 2.5. Neither the applicant or his/her parents may be Wal-mart employees, although students in that category can apply for other Wal-mart sponsored scholarships. Scholarship winners are chosen based on academics, activities, financial need, leadership, and test scores (ACT or SAT). The deadline is January 31, 2009.
