2009 Sammy Awards Scholarships

The 2009 Sammy Awards scholarships will allow 25 exceptional student-athletes to win scholarships of $7,500 each. Winners will also earn an all-expense paid trip to Disney's Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida, and a spot in a "Got Milk?" type ad in USA Today. Applicants should "excel at school, in sports and in your community."  The deadline to enter is March 6, 2009. Prospective applicants can find more information and get started at the 2009 Sammy Awards web page. This is obviously a great chance for superior athletes to win some serious cash. I'm not sure what importance anyone would attach to being judged by "A super-star roster of Milk Mustache celebrity athletes. . .," but I'm old, so what do I know?
